Open Question: What's the cheapest way to lift a ford excursion 10"?

I'm getting a 2000 ford excursion with a 6.8 liter v10 for my first car, I know it's not the greatest first car in the world but I love it anyway, but I'm not going to spend $2,000 to lift it 10 or 12" if there's a cheaper way, so any suggestions would be helpful! And no I'm not going to sell it for something " safer" because when I drive it I'm going to be wrapping myself in 5 tons of steel.
